Created in 1982 by Paris-Panthéon-Assas University and the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIP), the Henri-Desbois Intellectual Property Research Institute - named after an eminent professor at Paris-Panthéon-Assas University (1902-1985), specialist in intellectual property law, particularly copyright law - is one of the first research centers dedicated to intellectual property. The entirety of the IRPI’s activities focus particularly on business executives, legal experts and counsels, academics, and institutional representatives. Their studies and research focus on the various areas of intellectual property: copyright and related rights (adaptation to new technologies), patent, trademark, design and model law (in France and internationally).
